My name is Mia Spencer and I am a UX researcher interested in accessibility and inclusivity (soon to be CPACC certified). I am currently a graduate student at UT Austin in the School of Information.

My undergraduate studies in public policy first piqued my interest in accessibility and equity. My work in retail gave me experience in the e-commerce space and my first taste of UX design. My past experiences have led me to who I am now — a UX researcher interested in making sure that UX does not just mean user-friendly, but user-friendly for everyone.

Accessibility, equity, and inclusivity are most important to me. I believe technology should meet people where they are, not expect them to be a certain way or prefer a certain path. I’m passionate about the process of discovering user needs through research and discovering how the power of technology can be leveraged to satisfy those needs.

My other interests include…

playing soccer, writing, baking, reading, making digital art, and attempting to knit.
